Dubarry Backs

The backs of Dubarry adverts were printed the same way as the fronts, in a mixture of offset lithography and letterpress, and hence exhibit the same characteristics. Individual adverts can usually be identified by marks on the black printing, but not all. Our study of these is not complete, but the adverts which have unique features are listed below.

Of special note is that the Aug 1936 photogravure editions (344 and 14) have the back positions inverted, suggesting that the sheets were printed upside down. This means that many Group 2 adverts can be found with two different back adverts: the “normal” back, and the “inverted” back from the diagonally opposing position.
