Full colour adverts for Dubarry cosmetics were included in 21 editions of 2s, 3s, and 5s booklets from February 1936 until October 1939. The adverts were designed and printed by The Dubarry Perfumery Co. of Hove, in colour on both sides of glazed card.

How many Dubarry adverts are there?
It depends on how they are counted …

The most popular way to collect Dubarry adverts is by Type, which includes the 19 basic adverts together with significant varieties. British Stamp Booklets lists 27 Types. Three additional Types are included here for a grand total of 30. A Type is an easily distinguished variety, such as a word with a black background versus a white background, or a phrase in one line versus two, or a change in position of a word or phrase.

The three additional Types are (with Type II described):
Advert 6: on the back DUBARRY’S CRÈME SHALIMAR is in one line
Advert 9: SEE OVERLEAF offset left
Advert 10: SEE OVERLEAF low, DUBARRY with serifs

In the pages following this checklist (accessible through the menu above) adverts are further divided into Settings, which include small differences between adverts. There are many more Settings than Types.
